The Doshi We Know Fellowship 2018 has been conferred to Mr. Kaushik Kumar, where he proposes to work on the Water Structures of Melukote, deals with a question of very wide applicability and importance. His previous work in this area is notable, and his proposal is clear and focussed. Work done under the Fellowship would have impact on other such efforts too. The proposal is very appropriate to the Doshi Fellowship aims. We are grateful for Mr. Vishwanath, Biome Environmental Solutions, Banglore to have accepted to guide Kaushik for his proposed area of study. Of the other applications, the application by Mr. Harshil Parekh is notable for the passionate espousal of the cause of environmental improvements in poor communities. Mr. Parekh's previous work in this area is also notable. The Committee recommends that Mr. Harshil Parekh should be encouraged and supported in his work by awarding him a Doshi Fellowship Special Commendation. This Commendation is in recognition of Harshil Parekh's commitment to use of professional knowledge and ability for societal good.
